Reaching the limits | Contemporary Music Concert | Feb 22nd 2024

Patsiaoura ensemble presents the concert series “Reaching the limits”, a program consisting of 4 world premieres composed by Cypriot composers, who created works for bass clarinet, cello and percussion. The program consists of pieces by George Demetriou, Antonia Kattou, George Christophorides and Andys Skordis, and will be performed by George Georgiou (Clarinet), Natasa Hadjiandreou (Percussion) and Robertas Grod (Cello).

The concert series delves into the theme of limits, exploring them as both personal and collective concepts, examining how limits have the potential to transform, dismantle, create new scenarios, or lead to inner conflicts with ourselves and our environment, contemplating how one person’s limits effect others and vice versa. The series raises questions about where we set our boundaries and how we define them. It also ponders the factors that shape and establish these limits. Each piece expresses these matters uniquely, drawing inspiration from aspects of humanity, nature, education, and society.
